A networking reception with commercial representatives from the Embassies of the EU, Spain, Germany, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, Belgium, Latvia, Portugal, Estonia, and Lithuania.
Speaker Information
Al Guarnieri (Moderator) - Parker Poe
Al Guarnieri has been engaged in the international business community in North Carolina for almost 30 years. As an attorney with Parker Poe law firm, he has advised clients on a range of cross-border transactions including acquisitions, in bound investments, and overseas joint ventures. He is particularly active representing foreign-owned companies with their U.S. business expansion planning and execution.
Mr. Peter Young, Deputy Head of Trade at the EU’s Mission
Peter Young has a long and varied experience in EU trade policy. He is presently the Deputy Head of the Trade and Agriculture Section at the European Union Delegation to the United States in Washington DC. He took up this post in August 2020 and has the Diplomatic title of Minister Counsellor.
Dr. Mike Mazzola - EPIC/UNC Charlotte
Dr. Michael Mazzola is the Director of the Energy Production and Infrastructure Center (EPIC) and the Duke Energy Distinguished Chair in Power Engineering Systems at UNC Charlotte. In addition, he served two years as the chief technology officer of SemiSouth Laboratories, a company he co-founded. Dr. Mazzola holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Old Dominion University.
