Reactions to RNC2020 Jacksonville
6/10/2020 - Rumors arose that Jacksonville will host the RNC Convention.
This news created a lot reaction- here is a quick breakdown of those reactions.

“We are going do the business of the convention in Charlotte, but we can’t have our celebration there and we are going to move to a new city.” Ronna McDaniel told radio host Hugh Hewitt. “We didn’t release our hotel rooms in Charlotte, we had a feeling the Governor was going to hoodwink us…”
Charlotte 2020 Host Committee
“We have learned from news reports that the Republican National Committee has moved the convention from Charlotte to Jacksonville, Florida. Though there have been some conversations about business meetings being held in our city, nothing has been confirmed to us. This decision is in clear violation of the agreements made with the City of Charlotte, the County of Mecklenburg, Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, and the Charlotte Host Committee. Unfortunately, this action most directly impacts our hospitality and tourism partners, small businesses, and vendors counting on the economic impact of the promised events.” - Charlotte 2020 Host Committee

The Contract
The RNC Convention cannot just move to Jacksonville. The contract between the RNC and the City of Charlotte clearly identifies Charlotte as the Convention City. Other cities can have parties, speeches and even the delegates, just not the title Convention. As of now, the Convention will take place in Charlotte, otherwise it is a breach of contract.
