“Economic Development... How it works & Why is it Important”
Join City Council District 2 Representative Malcolm Graham and Bryan Holladay, Charlotte Area Chamber Public Policy Chair, for a discussion on economic development. Councilman Graham is the current chair for Charlotte’s Jobs and Economic Development Committee.
Malcolm Graham: Was first elected to the Charlotte City Council in 1999 and served until 2005, where he helped to revitalize inner city communities and led the efforts to relocate the CIAA tournament to Charlotte. From 2004-2014, Graham served in the North Carolina Senate, representing District 40, which covers Mecklenburg County, there he championed building out the city’s light rail. In 2019, Graham returned Charlotte City Council to represent District 2. Since 2020, he has been the executive director for Beds for Kids, a Charlotte-area nonprofit that provides beds and essential furniture to children and families in need. Graham also began the Charlotte Amateur Tennis Tournament, a passion project that raises funds to continue the Foundation’s mission.
