 2019 Code Legislation 

These are some of the bills that directly impact building code and construction (click them to read the bill). Senate Bill 355 is receiving the most attention from the Code Enforcement, industry professionals and is supported by the Home Builders Association. (updated 8/1/19)

  •  HB 858 - Designer Bill: Still in Committee

  • HB 675 – Building Code Regulation Reform: Signed into Law 7/26

  • HB 873 – System Development Fee: Passed House 114 to 0

  • SB 355 – Land Use Regulation Changes: Signed into Law 7/11

  • HB 730 – Multifamily Trash Bill: Passed House 114 to 0

  • SB 638 – DOA / DOI Fire Inspection for Public Owned Buildings: Still in Committee

  • HB 448 – Local planning and development regulations: Still in Committee
